Last updated: 09/01/26

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Wild Trails Camping Club website and any engagement with our services, including enquiries, applications, and certification processes.

By using this website or submitting information to Wild Trails Camping Club, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Wild Trails Camping Club

Wild Trails Camping Club is an independent organisation that assesses and certifies low-impact camping sites across the UK.

We operate a site-by-site assessment process and apply our own standards and criteria when considering applications.

2. Use of This Website

The content of this website is provided for general information only. While we aim to keep information accurate and up to date, we make no representations or warranties of any kind about completeness, accuracy, or suitability for a particular purpose.

Use of this website is at your own risk.

3. Applications and Certification

Submission of an application to Wild Trails Camping Club:

  • does not guarantee certification,

  • does not create a contractual entitlement to certification,

  • does not imply approval in principle.

Certification is granted only where a site is assessed as suitable against our standards and may be subject to conditions, limitations, or ongoing requirements.

Wild Trails Camping Club reserves the right to:

  • request further information or evidence,

  • decline an application,

  • impose conditions,

  • withdraw or suspend certification where standards are not met.

4. Fees

Any fees payable in connection with assessment or certification are communicated directly to applicants as part of the application process.

Fees are non-refundable unless stated otherwise in writing.

5. Planning and Legal Compliance

Wild Trails Camping Club certification:

  • does not constitute planning permission,

  • does not override planning law, land use restrictions, or other legal requirements,

  • does not represent approval by any local authority, Natural England, or other statutory body.

Applicants and site operators remain solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, permissions, and regulatory requirements.

6. Third Parties

Wild Trails Camping Club may reference or work alongside third-party consultants where appropriate. Any engagement with third parties is subject to separate agreements between those parties and the applicant.

We are not responsible for the advice, services, or outcomes provided by third parties.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wild Trails Camping Club shall not be liable for:

  • any loss arising from reliance on certification,

  • business losses, loss of income, or loss of opportunity,

  • decisions made by applicants, site operators, or third parties.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot be excluded by law.

8. Changes to These Terms

Wild Trails Camping Club may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this website.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Certification Disclaimer

Wild Trails Camping Club certification is an independent assessment based on information provided by applicants and, where applicable, site inspections.

Certification:

  • reflects suitability at the time of assessment,

  • may be subject to conditions,

  • may be reviewed, suspended, or withdrawn.

Certification does not:

  • guarantee regulatory approval,

  • imply endorsement by Natural England or any public authority,

  • replace legal, planning, or environmental obligations.

Responsibility for lawful operation of a site remains entirely with the site owner or operator.
